catching a fish?

I bought a 55g setup with about 14 medium size pieces of live rock off of Craigslist. It came with 5 fish - 2 clowns, a lawnmower blenny, a domino damsel, and a panther grouper.

I have been told several times I need to get rid of the panther grouper. I am planning on trading him in at the LFS.

Any suggestions on catching him? I tried unsuccessful for a little while this afternoon. I am considering...
1) pulling all the live rock and buying a second net in order to trap him

or

2) I have a tiny fish hook (size 16) that I have smashed down the barb on that I could put some type of food on and try to catch him.

Any ideas?

I would try a fish trap made by inverting the top of coke bottle or the fishing method
