Hi,

We have a 200l tank and have numerous fish in there for about 10months. The tank was looking great and water levels were fine, then noticed the caulerpa in the tank started going pink and 5 out of our 9 fish have died within the latest week. The algae in the tank on the power heads has also started to turn pink

No idea whats going on, done a water change after 2 fish died and then the rest carried on going.

Any one have any ideas? Appreciate it as am at a bit stuck about whats going on

Cheers

Everyone is going to want to know your stock list and the actual numbers from your tests; salinity, amm, nitrites, nitrates, do you have anemones? How are your inverts acting? Etc....

We need WAY more information to even begin to help

See this thread, copy and paste the questions with answers

Also, I've never heard of macro's turning pink, but they do turn white and go 'asexual' where they release a bunch of spores before dying. Those spores can cause issues that would lead to fish loss. Post some photos of this pink algae in addition to the template referenced above

The caulerpa has gone a-sexual.Basically it's dying and releasing all kinds of nasty stuff into the water.
Remove every last piece of caulerpa. Then do a 30 to 50% water change.Keep a close eye on your tanks parameters.
