Clean a fish tank?

I just picked up a used 55g tank and it has very bad build-up problem. I was wondering if it would be ok to use something like CLR or Lime Away to jump start the cleaning process. In the past I've only used vinegar/water to clean but this one is beyond anything I've attempted.

I would just use vinegar and water. Along with a razor blade if it is a glass tank.

get a non metal scrub brush and use some water and goto town , even if you take the thing to a local "do it yourself" car wash and use the pressure washer they have there.

IF you use any cleaning products you will have to do an extremely good job of getting the products out of the tank.. a feat more difficult then getting rid of the buildup

Vinegar will be the best solution to use, and a lil elbow grease.

Vinegar is the best solution to clean the aquarium tank which does not effect much. If you use any other solutions, the chemicals may effect the fish growth, so better to use the vinegar.
