im curious what the minnimum lighting requirements are to get coralline algae to grow on my live rock? Watts Per Gallon ETC. . . . . thanks everyone!

From my experience coralline actually prefers not alot of light and the lack of proper alkalinity and calcium levels is usually the case when coralline won't grow.

I can verify that it will grow with 220 watts over a 55 gallon.

Thats the lowest wattage on a tank that I have had.

Agreed and also if can can a rock that is coated with it will help the spread to other rocks. This sound funny but I got some scaping from a reefer when I first got my tank going and turned off all the flow.Sprinkled the flakes, let then attach and resumed tank flow. The next mounth my rock was coated.

i can verify, that coralline really doesnt care about light lol. I have roughly 1/2 watt per gallon. mine grows all over my rocks. Purples, greens, red, pink, yellow. I have 30 watts over my 55 gallon.

Cant wait to see what happens when my halides go up lol.
