Debris floating in water

I seem to have alot of little things floating in my water (I think from the live rock and the hermit picking things off it) what can I do to get rid of it?
I asked the LFS and he told me just wait and it will clear but it has not!

Is my skimmer not good enough?
Should I take my bio balls out and put LR rubble in?

How many powerheads do you have?

It is tough to not have particles floating around where there is flow.

Also, what color is your backround? The reason I ask is because I have a black backround and I can see everything. Blue is a little harder to see.

I have 1 powerhead, and I have a black backround.

Particles floating around in the water can be removed by some sort of physical filtration, like a sponge or even running carbon in an area of high flow. I wouldn't run either of those 24/7, just for a few days until the water clears up, and then every couple weeks or every month after that.

i think that it is healthy to have the particles floting around in the tank, i think that it is benificial to all the filter feeding critters like my sea apple and coral. i could be wrong but i have noticed that when i leave it alone every thing looks better than it did when i was trying to remove it. just my :twocents:
