Disappearing Zoa Mystery Solved

FishyReef

Broke Reefer!
Darn emerald crab has been pulling off my zoa polyps one by one. I've had so many polyps disappear in the last few weeks, I thought for sure they were detaching because the flow in my tank was too high. Nope. Caught Crusty the Crab valiantly trying to pull one off today. He must think they are bubble algae. Not sure if he's actually eating them or not, but I'm not finding loose ones around my tank (but they could very well be in the rocks where I can't see them). Anyhow, I guess its decision time on whether to keep him or let him go :(

I thought that's what he was doing when I've watched him pick through them before, but today he was definitely yanking on the polyp trying to get it off the rock! I've lost 2 full frags of zoas and about half of the polyps on my other ones! Guess I'm gonna need to be buying more frags so he can spread 'em around LOL

I would say BANISH HIM!!!
Hahah, but I have never really been a fan of the emeralds, maybe see if someone is willing to take him, or if someone needs him.
I love zoas too much too just let that slide :p
