Oh it'll all be dead soon enough ;) Hahaha.

If your rock was exposed to the air, odds are pretty good the purple will turn white and die off. But it's okay, it will come back. That's normal for live rock. In fact, whenever I do a water change the tops of my rocks are exposed. Even for just a few minutes, it kills the purple coralline.

My LFS is $12/lb for ugly, plain rock with no color and nothing growing on it :( You did get an awesome deal on really nice rock, Eli.
