I want to upgrade my filtration, in chamber one I have a sponge with a polyfiber pads that I change every 3 days it gets black quick. In chamber 2 I have chemi-pure elite and purigen. I wanted to make a refugium, but where does that go? Does any one have any ideas on what I can do make it better

Your fuge can go anywhere that gets some flow and light. You should just remove the sponge/pads... Unless you are good about switching them out, they can lead to nitrate problems. So if you're tired of dealing with them, just remove them.

In a small tank like that, it's often easier just to do larger water changes than worry about filters.

+1 biff, it would seem people try to use sponge's WAY to much, not realizing they cause more problem's than there worth. been there done that, chuck-em.. I don't know how big the chamber that you mentioned are but it might be possible to set up a sorta "mini fuge ", can you post some pic's???..
