feather duster help??plz

i got a atlantic feather duster yesterday when i fist placed him in the tank i seen that his tube on the end was falling off but didnt pay much attention to it.. bout a hour later i didnt like where he was (to much flow) so i wanted to move him when i got close he sucked his crown back in and i havent seen him since its been 24 hrs.. so i wanted to check and see if he was still in there and i can fill him in the tube but have noticed i think he is repairing the end of his tube..will he come out while he is fixing it?? there is no way to tell if he is alive in there or not so i was just wondering.. thanks for ur help

mine did this aswell ...mine came out more towards the end of the day until my damn hermits ate him :( ....mine was in the sandbed he stuck himself there

Mine didn't come out for like 2 days cause I kept messing with him. I have him in a lower flow area and he is in and out like he should be.

thanks guys..just got n from work and he is out now :) i dont like where he is so ill give him a week b 4 i move him
