I figured I'd load up some pics of my tank. Although I do not have many of the tank in it's virgin state, I did find one cloudy one :)

This was taken with-in the first 2 days. I failed to clean my dry rock first, and POOF it was a hot mess. took 3 days of running a canister filter to clear it up.

This is it afterwards with my first couple of fish

Remember kids, DO NOT TURN DOWN the FLOW in the REFUGIUM. It instantly accelerated the Brown Algae and nearly killed off my Cheato

Thanks guys and gals..

So decided yesterday to change the Aquascape. :) Only bad part of it was one Chromis took a hit on side, and is fine, but staying hidden to lick his wounds.

I needed to get rocks off sides. :) Still have to wipe sides but decided to get a magnetic cleaner rather then long wand brush. So will buy that this week. Any brand I should look for?

Thanks Lionel...

I figured I have a few area's for some corals, as well as hiding for fish and others.
No where near your amazing tank, but it's a start.

Well seems my little green guy may not had made it.. :) I did a feeding this AM, and no sign of him. After searching and searching, His body was found wedged between a couple of rocks.
So now the debate, remove him or let him decompose in tank? I'm thinking remove but have read other posts where they would leave a dead guy in just to add something to the tank.

Looks like a trip to Fish store tomorrow to get some water for a change, and possibly a couple new fish :)

Well decided to remove the dead guy.. The compassionate side of me kicked in :)

Well I must say I think the bonehead chromis wedged himself in tot hat rock. He was in there god so much so that I had to pull the rock out, grip his fins with a paper towel to get a good grip and pull hard. I'm sure there is fishy DNA in the hole still, but he is out and did the proper burial.

Still wondering what you guys do when your fish die, besides cry and think of the good money down the toilet syndrome he he he Do you leave in to decay or pull out?

Thanks
Chip

I picked up 2 Chromis to replace the dead one. Also another ball of chaeto which has already after one day taken away or killed off some of the brown algae.

Now a waiting game... I figured I'll give it a good 2 months to get established and then start too look at adding a HO light and some corals.. Much farther down the road.

So is the fact that I have some pink spots showing up on my rock a Good to Bad Sign??

I decided that my original chaeto was not gonna revive so I got another clump. In a day 80% of the brown algea was gone and trace amounts in refugium a couple days later. I now see red stuff in it. And worried it is the same as on rock.

Do I need to worry??

I'm also adding some pics of refugium for you to see.

The pink spots might be coralline algae growing. Also, careful with Chromis. They establish a food hierarchy and the low one on the totem will get starved to death. So be ready to replenish your stocks of them. Other then that, tank is looking good. Keep up the good work!
