Cascade is a canister filter. It doesnt make bubbles and it's also not recommended for SW tanks.

Canister filters are designed to grow bacteria that processes waste in freshwater tanks. When you use them for SW they grow more algae than bacteria and they end up producing nitrates that lead to poor water quality. I'd consider getting rid of that and look into getting a skimmer instead. BTW, it's probably not working because you have to pump the cascade logo several times to get the pump primed.

Ahh, I didnt realize that it was brand new. Id definitely encourage you to return it and get your money back. It would be wise to get your skimmer advice from someone other than the salesperson that sold you that cascade. I'd be cautious with any advice you get from that LFS in the future. Check out Octopus skimmers on the web. They make really good skimmers that aren't terribly expensive.
