I had a mushroom polyp umbrella in my tank came home and he was dead and rotting. i pulled him out of my tank and little strands of white stuff everywhere. i cleaned it out i had some on my frog spawn branches and took them out and cleaned them off.

what should i expect what should i do???

are you sure. it looked rotten as heck and smelled terrible worse than an infants diaper once i pulled it out. my tang was eating the stuff i think he was pickin at it before idk

Yeah they smell awful when they die. And they turn into a mass of slime that makes it very difficult to pull them out. But it will be okay.
