hermit cannibal?

okay i have two hermits one is twice the size of the other.. today i noticed the large crab on top of the small ones shell.. then near them i noticed two little blue legs and some crab flesh..so i garbed the big crab and moved him he had all his legs but the little one is missing two on one side now its hiding in a hole in my live rock is this crab going to die and why was the the big one eating him?

It will probably die if it's missing legs, especially if it's unable to forage for food. And they are evil animals that will eat each other, and anything else they can get their claws on. That's pretty typical hermit behavior.

should i just say screw the hermits and wht should i get for a cuc i have a perpermant he took care of the aptiasia problem i had and hes molted thre times in two weeks...wht should i put in

Hermits are ok. They are like any other crab though. They will eat whatever they can to survive. Good thing they stay somewhat small and can't mess with bigger stuff in our tanks.
