So still learning, but got some new fish in qt today. I am not going the route of just throwing them in my DT after dealing with ich for first few months. It was a nightmare. Anyways, I have them in qt and am observing them for signs of ich and have got them both eating really well. How long do people normally keep them in qt to watch them and make sure they are good to go? A week, two, three, four, six, eight? Or should I just treat them with meds regardless to be safe? This qt new fish thing is all new to me. Advice appreciated!

I'm not sure there is an exact right answer to your question.
I can tell you what I am doing now and will continue to do so. New fish go in the QT and treated with Prazipro. After a week the Prazipro treatment stops then I will observe for another week. If all is well during that week then off to the DT.
If something does pop up doing that last week treat with appropriate meds. Once the treatment period ends then watch for another week. All clear after that then it's off to the DT. Hope this helps.
