I have a 3 gallon HOB refugium on my tank now....added some macro (chaeto stuff) just wanting it to grow well. So i put a 15 watt T8 4200 K strip (18 inch i believe) over it....is this sufficient for the macro to grow good and reduce nitrates? Or should I put a clip on 26 watt cfl bulb above it instead? Also is 4200 K to yellow? Let me know, thanks!

That should be fine. But I think the CFL bulb will be better. 4200 K should be fine. I use two 23 watt CFL bulbs (6500 K) over my 20 gallon refugium and the chaeto grows like crazy.
