I have heard a million different answers to this. How long should my lighting be on per day? I have a polyp colony, mushrooms, and anenome.
Lighting is T5 VHO.

i run my lights for a total of about 13 hrs a day, actincs come on at 10:15am, daylights come on about 10:45am, daylights ago off at about 11pm and actincs go off at 12pm

It all depends on how much viewing you want. You can keep your lights on for 6-12 hours. Six hours of daylights is enough for the coral, the rest is for us.

I run 8 hours flat.

Ryan has it right. About six hours is necessary for photosynthetic corals. Fish don't need the lights for extended time, it's just for your viewing pleasure.
Remember, the longer the lights are on, the more the algae can grow!
