little brown thing

Anyone know what the heck this is - its soft brown almost hairy and squishy and looks like it has a mouth of some sort on one end (the clear bit sticking out on the top left of it....

Just syphoned it up and saw it fly through the tube when cleaning the tank hahaha

I have it sitting in a small bottle of water and the bit I said that looked like a mouth has flared out it looks like the tip of this thing but they say those are tiny tiny - this is about the size of my thumb nail

Ok after looking it up Im going to go with Pineapple Sponge.

From what ive read they are harmless filter feeders - good for silicate export? Sound about right? Its gone back in

Yep. They are called scypha, pineapple or q-tip sponges. They are harmless.
