MH Ballast Wires ?'s

Ok i just got a ballast and there are three wires, white, black and green.
Im no electrician but i atleast know the black is the ground:D but the white and the green are the confusing ones, is the white the lead and the green the a constant??????:grumble:

BLACK IS NOT THE GROUND! DONT WIRE IT THAT WAY

In 110 ac is as follows

BLACK=Hot
WHITE=Common
Green=Ground

+2 ryan...im an electrician. You are thinking of a dc current system where red would be positive and black would b the ground. Your ballast is ac current. White is hot. Black is your ground and green is your equipment ground/grounding wire.
