I was watching the tank earlier this evening and came across a really cool discovery!
My emerald crab has...

EGGS!

I thought it was strange that, at the time he, was poking around it's underside. Then I seen her spread the flaps... and sure enough there they were.

So I picked up this little gem the other day. A three for one, costing whopping $20. It has some zoas, mushrooms, and pulsing Xenia. My only concern is the mushrooms overgrowing the zoas.

So I bought a par38 led reef bulb and I'm curious if any one else has one? If so what are using for a lamp and how do you have it secured? Also how the corals respond to it?

I don't perosnally have one, but they plug into any standard light socket - so the sky is the limit. There are some cool photos of tanks using IKEA fixtures to suspend the lights over the tank - it looks classy

As far as coral growth - your mind will be blown. Corals respond very well to the proper LED setup

I have one on the ten gallon. The coral is doing very well. My only complaint is that I can't dim mine nor use the blues independently of the whites. I purchased it from Rapid LED.

The one I bought can dim. I thought I could use blues, too. Buuuut I can't. Just blue/white.
What are using for the lamp?

Today was declared 'BUY CORAL DAY!' Bought some more zoas, those things are like crack... but isn't this whole hobby like that? I also purchased a very nice leather.
I fixed my par38 led bulb to a swivel arm. Works for now...

Thanks! Its fortunate that our lfs has them priced rather low, but it could add quick, and does. I often get the 'eye' from the wife.

I'm totally understanding you. I regularly get the eye from my husband. Of course, he's considering dropping several hundred on body armor that he will NEVER use, so he has no leg to stand on............
