My Feather Duster

Sail em & Sell em
Hello,
Well My new feather duster I got over 3 weeks ago only comes out at night or when there is low light on the tank... Why is this? Is this a special kind of duster? or is it even a duster? Its white in color on his feathers and sometimes when the right light hits it its a green color.

Also, I have a lot of algee growing on my sand bottom. I have about 15 turbo snails and 10 crabs and a sand sifting star fish but they dont seem to be doing the job.... Any idea? I have about 1 in of sand on the bottom is this enough?

Can you post a picture of it? Feather dusters are non-photosynthetic filter feeder, but they should still come out during the day.

1 inch of sand is fine. What kind of water do you use? Tap water? Or RODI water? What kind of algae is it, dusty and rust colored? Or stringy, soft and slimy?

Is the tube soft or hard?Coco worms have hard tubes and feather dusters have soft tubes.Posting a pic will help.

One inch of sand is good.

Here are pictures of my feather duster tonight after the light went off he came out, I turned it on, N quicker then I can snap my fingers hes gone! lol....I just dont know! Its a soft tube, and now that I was told that the pink one I have is a coco worm then!

Also there is a picture of my star fish with the algae its slimy green hairy like and also some red slim only on the sand bottom tho.... Should I have add more current to the bottom of the tank?

Biff, can I get a pack of your green umm I cant think of what it was called! but for 10 buck a pack?

Thanks!
