Looking for a good T% HO Fixture for my 46 bow. 4X version

my LFS has the Aquatic life 36" AquaticLife LLC | Live It Today! Premium Marine Aquarium Products
for $300

DO I need reflectors? Will the Aquaticlife work?

I have also heard about Tek. Which is the better bang for the buck or if any one knows of anything else please let me know. Thank you

Retro or metal halide is no option for me.

The Aquaticlife will work. I've also heard good things about Tek lights, but never used one myself. I like the Nova Extreme Pros. Check those out too -- they may be cheaper.

The aquatic Life you linked to doesn't have individual reflectors.The better option is the Tek fixture you linked from Reef Geek.Of course the Nova Pros(actually 6 bulbs) Biff suggested to is another good choice in that price range.

There are more expensive brands like the Ati powermodule and sun power and Aquactinics.

That should be fine too. It doesn't have individual reflectors, but you should be able to keep most of what you want.

I just got the aquatic life fixture. What bulbs should I replace the ones it came with? Also do I have to use the legs? I want to put it directly on the aquarium. thanks

my fixture came with one 420/460 lamp and a 10,000k lamp. I really dont like the color that much. What is recommended?

You should use the legs. It's safer and makes it easier to work in the tank. As for the bulbs, those are pretty standard colors for T5s. What don't you like about the color? Do you want it more blue or more white?

not sure...less yellow I bguess. probably more white and blue. less yellow? cant really put my eye on what it needs.

Two ATI blue plus and two ATI aquablue special 12k will give you a crisp blue/white hue.

yes 4 bulbs. So what about replacing 1 of 10k bulbs with a aquablue?

I don't think changing one 10k for a 12k bulb will change the look much.
