Need some advice-emptying the canister....

I now have my HOB skimmer going for over 2 weeks..beginning to pick up some gunk. I had asked on another thread about unplugging the canister and got some great advice. Question now:
If I empty the canister and just use if for a extra powehead--can I put some of my live rock rubble in there? With the rubble in the canister will I need to be as OCD about cleaning the darn thing?:question:

you can put rubble and you will still need to be OCD lol

You can fill it with rubble. It shouldn't need to be cleaned too often, but you will get detritus settling on the bottom no matter what you use it for.
