New clownfish

I got this clownfish pair about two weeks ago and they are in my 20g right now, to be moved into the 55g in a few weeks. They are tank raised. I think they're healthy and happy. They are really slow eaters and only seem to get what falls close to them. I feed mostly prime reef frozen but I do feed flake a few days a week and they go up there and try but don't seem to be very good at getting the flakes from the water surface. But they gobble up the flakes once they go down into the water. Is this normal for them to be so slow and also to be so bad at picking food off the surface? I'm just wondering how they'll compete for food with my lightning-fast chromis and fairly quick royal gramma once they're in the 55g (they're alone now).
