new clowns

Just got a pair of perculas and one is definitely dominate, and really picking on the smaller one. all water levels are fine but the little guy is just hanging out in the corner and breathing heavy. should we quarantine him for a while or would that mean he would never be allowed back in the tank again? He will also eat a little bit but not as much as the other one.

Are they both pretty small, if so they are establishing dominance. The dominate on is going to become the female. But once they are established that should go away.

If they are medium sized you might have some more trouble because they both might be changing to female.

If they are both large, you will need to return one of them

And the little guy is probably pretty stressed out, but if this has only been going on a couple of days i would let them sort it out. If its been going on longer than that i would return the small one, and i think you are going to have a one clown tank.

Usually when you add clowns, you try to add two very tiny clowns, or clowns of very different sizes.

Both are about an inch long but the big mean one is noticeably bigger in girth, id say 30% bigger and we've had them for 4 days
