New to the site and SW!

I dunno. I saved 10 bucks by using the dry stuff and an hour and a half cleaning it.

I added one bag of live sand afterward it cost a little more but totally worth the time I gained using it.

Live sand is way over priced and doesn't really contain much 'live stuff' - better of spending the money on quality live rock that will in turn, seed your live sand.

I haven't heard anything mentioned about flow - do you hav any powerheads? You mentioned that your flakes/pellets would just drop to the ground. good flow will help keep detritus suspended in the water column so the filters/skimmers can process them out so an ammonia spike does not occur.

I have one power head, and I am thinking about getting another. I also have 3 over the back filters for this tank.
