i was thinking would live rock and a hong on skimmer be enough filtration along with live sand?

IMO you really dont need a skimmer for that small size. PWC`s will accomplish the same thing. Plenty of LR and LS and a PH to push the water around.

PWC - periodic water changes

LR - live rock

LS - live sand

PH - powerhead
