Nitrate

My Results Came Out To Be Between 2 And 5
Times That By 4.4 Like The Articles Say And Thats 22 Roughly Highest- But What Is The Number I Need?

SO IN THE KIT I HAVE BETWEEN 2 AND 5 IS OK?
BECAUSE THE HELPFUL ARTICLE I READ SAID TIMES IT BY 4.4 SHOULD I? OR IS THAT FOR A DIFFERENT KIT THAN MINE?
IF YOU TIMES ANYTHING BY 4.4 THAT MEANS THE KIT SHOULD ALWAYS READ ZERO. iM TRYING A REEF TANK BY THE WAY

Read the kit and if it states that it is for total nitrate, then you read it for what it is, but, if the kit is not for total nitrate then use the 4.4 multiplyer. I think you may have a test kit for total nitrate. but, i could be wrong. the paper that came with it should tell you. hope this helps.

Oh and less I forget, since we dont use lab grade test kits any nitrate reading should be reason of concern to some extent. under 5ppm is just a figure that a lot of hobbist have found to be acceptable for reef systems in general, as long as you do not get algae blooms then you are ok.
