After looking at alot of tanks I've found one I think will be a good first tank. Its this Nano Cube: Nano Cube Aquarium Kit: JBJ Lighting 28 gallon Nano Cube HQI Aquarium Set
It has MH lighting and I believe the only thing it needs is a heater. Has anyone else worked with this model or another kind of Nano Cube. Also would this system be strong enough in light for sps and clams? I believe it says it has 5.35 watts per gallon.

But at night it would drop quite a bit especially in winter

It should be fine depending on the temp in your house. I run a 24 gallon and 2,12 gallon JBJ nanos as well as all of my other aquariums, I don't run a heater in any of them. Thats just me though, just monitor your water temp as you are cycling it and see if its nesessary.

I would be more worried about needing a chiller then a heater.

i dont run a heater in my tank but is is a lot bigger than yours if you house gets cold at night than i would get one.

I have a chiller and a heater in my Red Sea Max, which is just a bit bigger. With the lid closed it gets pretty warm!

You should take a look at nanotuners before you spend any money.
If you are going the "all-in-one" route, you will find some cool "tuned" tanks over there.
