particulate in tank

my tank water in my 55 has started to have particles floating in it. I have 50 lbs of live rock, 2 HOB filters (one graded for a 70 gallon the other for a 50) I have 792 gallons of flow.
I do not have my protien skimmer yet, but am picking it up in 2 weeks.
Can anyone help me get these spots out of my water and perhaps tell me whats caused it suddenly?

What kinds of particles do you see? so you have a powerhead to break the surface area?

About the only thing I can think of that might help,would be to upgrade your filtration to a sump.Of course it'll help when you get youor skimmer in and running.

I really don't know what the particles are. white seems to be the best description I can come up with. One powerhead breakes the surface, the other two just circulate the flow. I really have nowhere to put a sump, at least I don't think. I keep thinking about making my 20 gallon into one, but I wonder how much cost and work is involved.

As far as actually making the sump about 20 bucks. Getting the water in and out of the sump probably 150-200 bucks.
