Phosphate question

I have an issue with lowering my phosphate on my tank. It is high and has been since i started the tank. I thought originally it was from my water, but it has not gone down. I picked up some phos-zorb today at the LFS. Anyone ever use this and will it mess up my other levels?

It shouldn't but if you've got a long term PO4 issue, you may want to look into a GFO reactor
