I would also put my money on a mantis.

They are more agile than the pistol shrimp.

just to say im NNNNOOOOT gonna do this it would be animal abuse! i would but my money on the pistol because even though the mantis is more agile the pistol would have to take one shot because of the super nova 2 seconds that the pistol creates

The mantis has a very fast shot as well. the spearing mantis would probably be the fastest but the striking mantis would ambush the pistol. He would knock the pistols "pistol" right off..

One thing you guys have to understand is that the Mantis shrimp is possessed by satan. They are known for being pretty intelligent as well as savagely dismembering their prey. There is no doubt in my mind that the Mantis shrimp will win just about any opponent except an octopus or barracuda which are natural enemies of the Mantis shrimp. For your entertainment..

Its interesting the way the mantis was smart enough to take off the CBS's claws first before going in for the kill.

They deffinatly are very very smart. They don't want to risk getting pinched so they will take out the claw first. My old mantis "Mr. Nice Guy" use to take off the claws of the crab and leave him alive while he ate the claws then he would finish off the crab later. (fresh meat :)

My new mantis "sunny" she is very polite and will not even hammer at the crabs she prefers frozen clams, fish and shrimp. I feel that I could pet her at times lol.

My spearing mantis "spike" eats frozen fish as well he doesn't like crabs either.

This is Mr Nice Guy - Sorry fishsticks
