My tank is almost 2 year old. I have about 50+ lbs. of live rock from different sources. With some of it I got a ton of small (many deformed) star fish. Could I also have gotten pods?

Are pods that noticable that I would be seeing them?
I also saw something called "Ocean Pods" on line, a bottle live pods for $25. I have a AquaClear500 hanging on my tank as sort of a fuge with sand and macro algea, it just trickles into tank, would this work for pods?
