powerhead/water circulation

I have a 55gallon tank w/o an overflow that im slowly saving money to make it a reef tank. was gonna just use live rock and a skimmer for filtration. but i was wondering about what kind of circulation pumps i could use? How many pumps i should use? and how many gph they should be? since it will be a reef tank i want to make sure that i get something that will provide enough water flow for those needy corals but not strong enough to rip them off the rock. any help or ideas much welcomed. thanks

The ideal circulation will be 25x-35x tank water turnover. The key is to use eliminate any dead spots.
The hydor koralina are good, and widely used. One that does not get enough press is the sicce voyager. SICCE Pumps Voyager

I would just get 3 maxi jet 900s or 1 maxi 1200 and two 900s that should be plenty and you can play with the heads to get the flow you want.
