I recently moved my skimmer pump from the third chamber in my sump to the second chamber.
I.have noticed the bubbles in the skimmer are not the same. While.the water and bubbles look the same the froth created is not exactly the same.
The microbubles seem pretty close in look but the top of the skimmer just isn't having as many if any bigger bubbles. I heard during the cycle you wont get the same waste as when you have fish but I had much larger bubbles and darker waste last week.
Will the longer distance have a big effect on the froth?
What does the seemingly lighter color in the froth mean if anything?
I was thinking of moving the skimmer into the third chamber to cut in half the length of the hose plus I would feel less worried about an overflow even though I have a huge bottle connected. Everything has a limit.
