My tank has gone over a week without light.
Its good to help battle an algae outbreak.

Just reacclimate your corals to the light so they dont get burned. Probably not needed after only 3 days, but cant hurt either.

After 3 days light acclimation shouldn't be needed. And if this is for an algae problem make sure to do a significant water change on day three like 20-30% to remove nutrients from the algae die off.

Thanks guys.. And no not for algae... Went out of town for a couple days and don't have timers on the lights so no one to turn em on and off... But thanks for all the responses!

I'm pretty sure if you go to Walmart you can get a Brinks timer. Basically you plug your light into that and the current time. Then you can set a time that you want your lights to turn off and on.

so having some green and red cyano algae would be bennifical for at least a 3 day light out? Would I have you cover the tank with a blanket or anything?

Look at it this way....in nature, the sun isn't out 7 days a week ;)
