Quick air exposure, Zoas

I moved a rock off of my sand bed and placed it higher on the main aqua scape. Its about the size of an American football. I noticed, after I moved it, that there are a few Zoas that found their way into one of the holes in the rock. I do NOT like the look of the tank with this rock where it is. I do NOT want the rock back on the sand.

What I would like to do is move it to the sump. Will this simple, quick move kill the Zoas?

Also, I do water changes from my sump. When doing this, if that rock is placed in the sump, it would get exposed to air during a WC. Will this kill the Zoas and am I risking any other issues exposing LR to air for short periods? WC usually takes me about 5-10 minutes.

Zoas can be exposed to the air for 5 to 10 minutes (or longer) with no problems. They will be fine in your sump -- provided your sump has enough light and flow for them.
