raising salinity

tank has been setup for 10 months now and my salinity has always been around 1.025, over the past few months is slightly lowered to 1.024 and I am aiming for 1.026. Is it possible to just add a little bit of salt to the sump to raise my salinity to that 1.026 or do i have to make it and do extra water changes? another thought that came to mind if i cant add it to the sump, could i mix small portion of ro/di water (1 or 2 gallons) and add lots of salt to that little bit of water (aim for a high salinity level) and add that to the tank? in theory, it sounds like if i had a small portion of water at 1.6 specific gravity and I added it to the tank, it would increase the salinity in the tank overall. Would this work?

Hehehehe....I won't lie...I once or twice poured a cup of salt directly into my sump LOL I poured it in the absolute furthest corner, well away from the return pump. Very bad of me!
