Red "felt" growing on coral

Hi guys,
My gsp has been "plating" up in spots instead of growing out. I ordered a new light and it's coming Monday or Tuesday. Anyhoozle, I tried to move some rocks that had the coral on it and I ticked it off and it retracted. That's when I noticed this red felt like growth on parts of the coral. It is not slimy. I pulled some off with two fingers, it comes off pretty easily, don't know how I would get it all off of there and the rock is super attached so it's not coming out of the water. Any clue what this is? Also, can you tell I used my iphone?

Just looks like cyano to me. BTW, Anyhoozle=win :D

Thanks guys, I guess I thought cyano was slimy. It makes sense after reading about it. My skimmer has been broken and I'm waiting on an impeller in the mail.

Try blowing it off with a turkey baster while siphoning it out of the tank.
