Red hairlike growth...NO IDEA what this is

So this red hairlike stuff has been growing in my tank for a while now. When I touch it it feels rough. I also noticed some red grape algae along with it but only a strand or two. I have searched and searched trying to figure out what the heck this is...can someone please help me? I would like to know what it is and if I should allow it to propagate in my tank or keep it out. Any help would be very much appreciated!

Google gracilaria and see if any of those species match what you have in your tank.

almost looks like gracilaria but not 100% sure

All the ones that I saw were a lot more finer looking. The stuff in my tank is very coarse and stiff....I suppose it could possibly be though...definitely has me stumped
