red slime

what is causing red slime in my sump. is it not enough flow? guessing its flowing 150 gallons per hour. 75g display tank. no slime in DT. just the sump. sump has filter sock chaeto live rock return pump.

Lack of flow may be letting the red slime take hold, but its excess nutrients thats causing the cyano to grow in the first place. Could also potentially be bad bulbs helping it grow as well, what kind of light are you using?

Next water change, pull your sump and clean it as well. Are you running that CFL constantly? You can always add a nano powerhead to the sump to give it a bit more flow too.
