Remember, skimmers are known for being optomistically rated....if you are going to have a sump then you will be over the rating of the skimmer, and I typically try to run a bigger skimmer than system...
Octopus skimmers are outstanding....I ran one on my last setup for several years and was never anything but pleased with it....
