Refugium lighting

Setting up my refugium, what color bulbs can I use to keep chaeto and some mangroves?

Is it 6500+ or are 10ks needed?

cheato will grow under anything I am convinced, but most people use the just normal daylight CFL bulbs. Mangroves probably require something more like what you keep corals with.

I thought chaeto was pretty hardy under most lighting, I was more concerned with the mangroves. Thanks Hannah!

Since mangroves are a terrestrial plant, I would try one of those grow bulbs over them.

I have a 65 watt grow bulb I picked up from walmart for $5 something. Halmedia and Cheato has to be trimmed weekly. Friend of mine uses a 3 watt xenon bulb down there and his cheato grows even faster. I think he uses a grow bulb on his mangroves on his predator tank, I think he said he trim's them once a month or so.
