Skimmer Pump Question

I'm lookin to build a skimmer for my 75g DT. It'd be placed in my 38g sump. My question is what kind of pump would be good? I think I want a venturi over an airstone for cleaning purposes. What kind of flow rate would I be needing? 150-225gph through the skimmer or something like 500-750gph? That's my biggest question and one I cannot find a solid answer for. I'm going to build the skimmer designed by Randy

Sicce PSK1000 would be a great pump for this.

ok so more flow is better I take it? That one is about 880gph.
