strange happenings in my tank

Hi There
I bought a piece of live rock last weekend. I got a free hitch hicker crab, which is passive also I found some small brittle star fish legs coming out of the rock (easily identifiable)... Also there was a bigger pink (what I think) is another larger pink brittle star fish leg coming out... although I'm not 100% sure. The strange thing is.. one morning I looked in to find a small column of the substrate built... It looked like it was all balanced on top of each other, but I think it must have been glued or secured somehow... The next morning it had been added to, so the colum is now thicker and taller. The top seems to be attached (somehow) no an over hanging peice of my rock. This is a strange mystery. Any ideas on what could be doing this?

Do you happen to have a picture? You may have a burrowing hitch hiker and he's busy making his new home.

Sounds like you have some busy critters.
Maybe dozers from fraggle rock. :)

Its a type of worm. they feed on detritus and other waste.
