T5 Color Combo?

Hi,

I am running a lighting system with 6 80W T5's. I was using 4 BlueWhite, 2 Blue and 1 Pink but have recently changed to:

- 1 BlueWhite
- 4 Blue Actinic
- 1 Pink.

I am using the RedSea T5's:

I think with this setup i will have less algae growth and more Coral growth but i stand to be corrected! Does anyone know if the setup will achieve what i hope?

Pink is a plant bulb and will facilitate algae growth. I would change it for a 10-14,000°K. If that's too blue since you have lots of actinics, switch one of those out to that same bulb.

Thanks. I could try replacing the pink for one of the whites i took out. I heard that the pink helps bring out the red Coral colors though?

Probably, but actinics will still help them pop.

I woul change out the amount of actinic bulbs you have, they don't really have the intensity to be your primary bulb. I would try

3-4 blue plus
1-2 actinic
And one purple plus or Fiji purple (this may be the one you were thinking of not pink)
