Test Kit Recommendations

The importance of excellent water chemistry can not be underestimated; I accept this as fact.

I want to learn how to have impeccable water quality.

I'd like to purchase the ultimate reefer test kit; one which will cover all tests important to reef keeping and my goal of impeccable water quality.

Recommendations?

I wouldn't buy API test kits.. Some I use are Red Sea and Hanna Instruments.

Thank you; these are good suggestions.

But what I am looking for is one complete test kit, containing all tests relevant to reef keeping. These manufacturers provide individual tests.

If I must buy all tests relevant to reef keeping, then I would ask for a list of all tests relevant to reef keeping so that I can buy them individually and create my own test kit.

There is no kit that contains everything. The basic tests are pH, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. When you start keeping hard corals you'll need to add kH, calcium and magnesium. And of course a refractometer for salinity.

Red Sea has a few packs with three different tests in it, but mainly all the brands except API sell them separately. Im using mainly Salifert tests right now.
