Do Not Listen To Me!!!
I run 4 1400GPH Hydor Evolutions on a Smartwave on my 220Gal.
I also took my 2 Aqueon 1250GPH and put one on each side near the top and pointed them upward. They both make a nice slight bump in the surface and cause a big ripple/wave effect.
I was thinking this is great for gas exchange but is it good for light penetration.
I have a lot of corals and they seem fine but would it be better to agitate the water in the sump instead and let the surface sit motionless. I do have it in the sump when the water comes into it and leaves the skimmer etc.
