Toxic?

I have a feather duster that I'm pretty sure is dead. Does anyone know if I have to remove it? Do they turn toxic? I have no idea what kind of duster it is. The feathers were white and red. Thanks.

feather dusters are a worm. It won't poison your tank.

But it might cause nitrates to go up if your clean up crew doesnt get to it or if your biological filter isnt adequate

Still just a worm.
I'd remove the carcass to keep it from decaying in the tank,but they don't release toxins.

take it out but wear a nice big nose plug. cocoa worms and feathers smell something barf worthy when they die.... it's best to remove it so your nitrates don't spike.
