I have a tube anemone that I recently moved out of the flow. The outer tube skin appeared to be getting attacked by hermit crabs before I moved it. When it was lifted out of sand it looked as if the tube anemone was ripped. About half of the entire length of the tube is where the rip is at and also appears as if the rip is where the actual tentacles are coming out of too.
