Understanding sumps

I have been researching on building my own sump/fuge and was very confused. I am not much of a DIY person and am a bit on the "challenged" side when it comes to understanding how any equipment works, let alone building it. I come across this article and now everthing makes sense to me so I thought I would share.

I love Marc's site. I found myself in his site a lot when I was still a noob in saltwater. He's got so much great info there.

Still clear as mud to me. I have the simplest set up I think I have ever seen in a reef tank no sump, refugium, pipes, drilled holes NOTHING

It all scares me LOL

Plus any website with black background and white text is a total turn off to me as it leaves me partially blind afterwards LOL
